BIOGRAPHY

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Gretchen Gale Merriweather began her career behind the mic as a singer. After earning a degree in Psychology from Spelman College, she decided to pursue her childhood dream of singing professionally. Through her vocal coach, she learned that a popular 60's girl group was looking for a singer. This led to 17 years of singing and traveling the world with The Crystals, the group who recorded the original version of "Da Doo Ron Ron." Gretchen has also worked with The Marvelettes, The Platters, Steven Scott Orchestras, as well as a number of local area club date bands.

With over 25 years of singing under her belt, Gretchen decided to pursue her dream of becoming a voice actor. She studied acting at The Weist Barron School of Television in New York, as well as with acting and career coach Susan Campochiaro Confrey. She continues to hone her voice over skills at The Great Voice Company in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey with the help of her coach, Susan Berkley.

No stranger to the recording studio, Gretchen is a seasoned professional with natural charm and charisma. She's a pleasure to work with and has been told that she takes direction well.
